Sepsis claims the lives of about 48,000 people each year in the UK - about the same as bowel cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
A third of those lives could be saved if more people were aware of the early signs so that they could ask, “Could it be Sepsis?”
Mike spoke about crucial efforts to raise awareness - including some of the signs of Sepsis that we should all be aware of:
1) Slurred speech or confusion
2) Extreme shivering or muscle pain
3) Passing no urine for a day or more
4) Severe breathlessness
5) Feeling like you are going to die
6) Skin becoming mottled or discoloured
