As the newly elected Member of Parliament for Kingswinford and South Staffordshire, Mike has visited Bilbrook and Codsall Community Fire Station to meet the crew.
Mike spoke with members of the team about their work at the fire station and out around the communities of Bilbrook, Codsall and surrounding areas.
The Community Fire Station recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a walk from Kinver Fire Station all the way back to home base at Duck Lane in Codsall, with all donations going to the Firefighters Charity.
Mike said:
“It was brilliant to meet with James, Stuart and Russ, and to hear about all the important work the crew here at the Bilbrook and Codsall Community Fire Station are doing.
“The team truly show just how dedicated our emergency service workers are and what a privilege it is to have them in our community.”
Group Manager James Green, lead officer for South Staffordshire, Cannock Chase and Stafford Borough, said:
“As the Member of Parliament representing residents and businesses across South Staffordshire, it was a pleasure to welcome Mr Wood to Bilbrook and Codsall Community Fire Station to discuss all of the many ways that Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service supports local communities in the District.
“Visits such as this provide a great opportunity to showcase the work of the modern fire and rescue service, whilst understanding the key issues that matter to people within the constituency.”
