Hundreds of local people took advantage of the many apprenticeship and training opportunities available at Mike’s latest Apprenticeship and Skills Fair in Kingswinford.
The Fair was the eighth organised by Mike since he was elected Dudley South’s MP in 2015 and again saw large numbers of residents of all ages come face-to-face with a wide range of employers, colleges and training providers.
West Midlands Police, the NHS, West Midlands Ambulance Service and local colleges were in attendance to offer public sector opportunities, and a wide range of private sector firms such as Nationwide Building Society, National Infrastructure Solutions and Lloyds Bank were also recruiting on the day.
Mike said:
“Once again, I’m really grateful to all the organisations who accepted my invitation to come along to today’s event and offered a fantastic range of career paths to local people.
“People are rightly starting to appreciate the value of apprenticeships again, and with so many successful career routes available through apprenticeships I wanted to make sure that those I represent have access to them.”
Mani Sohal, Barclays Local Specialist for Stourbridge area, said:
“As the Barclays Local specialist for the Stourbridge and surrounding areas, getting involved in the community is a big part of my role and it was fantastic for me and Ollie to be able to support and be part of such a great event.
“It was a privilege to be part of the Kingswinford Apprenticeship and Skills Fair where we had the opportunity to discuss Barclays Life Skills sessions which are free for everyone and also discuss the great career opportunities that Barclays has to offer. It was a great way for Barclays to give back to the community.”
